How to Change the Internet Explorer’s Homepage

The default browser that comes with Windows is considered by many specialists a far inferior version of a browser compared to undeniably more popular and performance-driven products from the likes of Mozilla and Google. However, millions of PC owners all over the world continue using it. Let’s learn how to change the default homepage on this dinosaur.

Changing the default homepage

1. After opening the browser, go to the “Tools” menu (ALT + X).

2. Scroll down towards the submenu “Internet options”.

3. Search for the tab called “General” and click it.
4. In the text box below the “Home Page” input the internet address you wish to use as your homepage. You can also set a currently viewed page as the homepage.
5. Confirm alterations.

Note that IE allows you to choose several URLs as your homepages. It can be useful to people who enjoy reading news from multiple sources or like to see updates on their favorite websites. In order to set multiple pages, make the currently viewed page as homepage and add as many URLs as you need.

Choosing “Use default” button will make Microsoft’s webpage your homepage.

How to remove a URL that you set as homepage

In case you need to get rid of web pages that you don’t need as homepage destinations, you can do it in a couple of simple steps:
1. In the “Tools” menu, search for general internet options.

2. Remove undesired addresses from the box below the Homepage.
3. You can also fall back to default options or clear the homepage by using the “New tab” scenario.
